PTO sponsored events planned for 2016-2017 include:

Ice Cream Social - September 8
We all scream for ice cream! What a yummy way to start off the year. And this year, the Toe Jam Puppet Band will be performing for us! Bring your family and a blanket and see lots of friends. Our ice cream servers will be some of your favorite teachers! 


Fall Spook-tacular/ Basket Raffle - October 21 
Come in costume and enjoy of fun night of dancing and games. Also, the baskets from our basket raffle will be on display along with your last chance to purchase tickets. Baskets will be raffled off during the event. 


Fall Fundraiser - Square 1 Art - TBD
Throughout September and October, students will create artwork during their scheduled art class at school. That artwork is then sent to Square 1 Art, who will in turn send you 20 free stickers (called squickers) featuring your child’s artwork. You will also receive a personalized catalog with lots of other items that you can order featuring your child’s artwork. Purchased items will be available just before the holidays and make great, 
personalized gifts! 


Fall Fundraiser - Yankee Candle - TBD
This year we are running our Yankee Candle fundraiser in the spring. They have lots of great products to get you ready for spring and summer. This is the only product catalog sale that we participate in. This year funds raised will offset the cost of school field trips.  


Holiday Shop - December 5-7
Just in time for the holidays, children can shop for their loved ones during their designated class time. A variety of items are available to choose from. Items range from $1.00 - $ 5.00. Our parent volunteers will even wrap two gifts! The shop needs numerous parent volunteers to make this a successful event. Sign up information and class times with dates will be coming out in November. If you have unused and unopened gifts or have a talent for making a craft or art please feel free to donate items to this shop.


Family Tubing Event - February 6th from 6-8pm
This is such a fun family event.....snow tubing at Yawgoo Valley ski area! And the best part is that this is a private event, open only to the families of Richmond Elementary…so we have the whole place to ourselves!! The PTO subsidizes a portion of the cost of each ticket. 


Enrichmond - March 7 - March 31 (Thursday classes end April 6)
This after school program offers a variety of extra curricular activities for all grade levels. All activities are held right at the school. More details to come.


Spring Fundraiser - Mixed Bag Designs
This fundraiser includes two catalogs: the much-loved Bag & Accessories and the all-new Kitchen & Home catalog!  The Bag & Accessories Catalog includes high quality and durable reusable bags (they hold a whopping 50-60 lbs) and tons of variety; look for storage, travel sets, lunch bags, handbags, accessories and more.  The Kitchen & Home Catalog features kitchen gadgets, home decor, kitchen storage, yummy food mixes and more! 


Boys Choice Event - May 10, 5:30-7:00pm
Get ready to join us for games, races, and fun! Boys are invited to attend with an adult of their choice. Come challenge your adult to games, tug-of-war, water balloon toss, and our obstacle course. 


Girls Choice Event - April 28, 6:30-8:30pm 
Girls (along with an adult guest) will have a night of fun and dancing in the school gymnasium!  This year's theme is Red Carpet Event.


Talent Show - May 26, 6:00-7:30pm
Come see our talented 3rd and 4th graders perform! It is sure to be a night of many shining stars! The show is held in the Richmond School cafe. 


Spirit Week - June 12-16
A kid favorite...spirit week! Show your school spirit by participating in these wacky themed days. More details to come.

Bank Days:
Have your child ‘Bank at school’. Sponsored by Westerly Community Credit Union, bank days allow your child to make deposits into their savings account (a parent must fill out the application to open the account) right at school on designated days.

Birthday Board
Happy Birthday to you!! Your child’s birthday is special and we want everyone to know it is their special day. Each month the board is beautifully decorated with the names of each student celebrating a birthday that month. The birthday board is located directly across from the glass doors at the circle entrance – next to the PTO bulletin board.

Book Fairs
The Scholastic Book Fair date is TBD.  Each class will visit the library during their regularly scheduled library times.  Parents are welcome to join their child during this time or visit the book fair during open house nights. All proceeds from the Book Fair go directly to the school library.

Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education
Help your school earn cash by clipping Box Tops and Labels for Education (soup labels) from hundreds of participating products. Just clip and send them into school with your child each month. Kids love to help out cutting and counting them with you…and the class with the most box tops, gets a special prize!

Chuck full of all kinds of good stuff, the website is your one-stop place to find lots of info including weekly updates of events happening at the school, a school calendar with activities throughout the school year so you can plan ahead, list of PTO meetings and contact information, an area to download forms and flyers sent home, and links to other school-related websites. 

Teacher Appreciation Week - May 1-5
Our teachers are the best! During teacher appreciation week, the PTO sponsors a catered lunch on behalf of our students to thank our wonderful staff for all their great work.

Yearbook
All those precious memories, captured in a special keepsake. The yearbook contains individual pictures of every student across all grades (will be the picture taken by Coffee Pond in the fall) along with our wonderful teachers and faculty. Plus there are so many great candid shots from each of our events. It is a special book that your child will look back on each year and share such special memories.
